Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
A 10lb hike for last time's Fontwell romp isn't going to aid Blame The Game's cause in trying to reverse previous Fakenham form with Moroder, and the latter was arguably value for a wider margin of victory that day anyway. They can contest the minor placings here but preference is for Deebaj, back up in class but significantly returning to the trip of last March's Fontwell success, over which he remained thoroughly unexposed.
1.00:Shut The Box
As Kap Auteuil faces a stiff task having gone up 12lb for winning a modest Fakenham handicap last time, this can go to Shut The Box, who has run well enough on his last three starts to suggest he can pick up a race like this.
Beau Du Brizais is probably the most solid of these but all four of his rivals would have claims if pulling their socks up. Danny Whizzbang is down in grade over a trip that should suit him but preference is for White Moon, who was rushed off his feet over too short a trip at Kempton last time. He can be given another chance off what is a very lenient chase mark for one of his ability.
Having often pulled hard in early runs, Blue Cable has clicked for her current yard and built on her win when an unlucky loser in a race not run to suit last time. The hat-trick chasing, five-time C&D winner Viola Park is an obvious danger off a mark only 1lb higher than at Kempton last week, while the well-treated Broughtons Flare is also respected.
5.30:Wall Of Fame
Very little racecourse form to go on and the level shown by Wall Of Famewhen third in a decent-looking Thurles maiden hurdle stands out. Isle Of Oir is the most interesting of the newcomers, while the Colin Bowe-trained Fame Valley should be noted too.
