Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Aintree, Chepstow, Dundalk, Lingfield, Newcastle and Wolverhampton bets

Aintree

5.15: Takingrisks

Cloth Cap is the most likely winner but he is also the hot favourite and almost certainly needs to do the job in a slightly different style, with rather less exuberance than he showed at Newbury. He will surely face plenty of competition for the early lead if connections believe that that has been key to his recent success. Among the very strong Irish challenge, Burrows Saint, with potential and his Irish Grand National win, is preferred to the Minella Times and Any Second Now, for both of whom stamina remains something of a guess, and Discorama who was narrowly denied in a 3m7f National Hunt Chase. Kimberlite Candy and Lord Du Mesnil are players if the ground turns out to be soft but this field also includes a serious contender in the unflappable veteran Takingrisks (nap), who won a 4m Scottish National two years ago, has no particular ground requirements and produced his best ever form when winning at Doncaster last time out. He gets the vote ahead of Cloth Cap, Burrows Saint and Minella Times.
Richard Austen

Chepstow

3.20: Bashful Boy

All of these have something going for them but top of the list is Bashful Boy (nap), who won in pretty good style at Fontwell 12 days ago and has his subsequent 5lb rise offset by Niall Houlihan's useful claim here. Gateway To Europe looks very interesting if judged on the form of his third behind two subsequent winners at Huntingdon in November, and the ground was softer than he prefers when he was below that level the following month.
Chris Wilson

Dundalk

3.55: Sense Of Worth

The unexposed Sense Of Worth (nap) has had his recent course form boosted and he still looks well handicapped, despite going up 3lb for his recent second. Dande might be an each-way player back down at his preferred trip here.

Lingfield

2.00: Outrage

A few of these like to force it, including Autumn Flight who bids for a quick hat-trick after winning again at Chelmsford on Thursday, so this should be run at a proper gallop. That should suit Outrage (nap) who got up late for both wins over course and distance earlier this year and remains below his highest winning mark. Newyorkstateofmind ran well on several occasions here late last year and can go well fresh, so he may prove the best alternative.
David Bellingham

Newcastle

3.40: Lively Citizen

The solid option is the upwardly mobile Lively Citizen (nap), who can gain a deserved second success of the campaign. El Borracho has optimum conditions and could be the main threat, although Beach Break is also of some interest after a breathing operation.
Richard O'Brien

Wolverhampton

7.45: Heptathlete

Camachess should leave this year's previous efforts behind her today and has a part to play but none appeals more than Heptathlete (nap). Her winning run came to an end here three weeks ago but she still performed with great credit in better company and can prove herself to still be nicely ahead of the handicapper.
