Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for Saturday's six meetings

Best bets from the Curragh, Chester, Doncaster, Newcastle and more

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Newmarket

3.50: Sayyida

Masar's half-sister Sayyida (nap) made an encouraging winning reappearance over 1m4f on the Rowley course here last month and an opening handicap mark in the mid-80s could prove lenient with further progress very much on the cards. Something Exciting (second choice) leaves the impression this trip could suit and heads the dangers along with By Starlight and Salisbury maiden winner Franklet.
Andrew Sheret

Newcastle

3.30: Dubious Affair

The presence of such a high-ranking stayer as Trueshan adds huge interest and he's on the shortlist, but top of that list is Dubious Affair (nap) who is well handicapped, progressive and seemingly crying out for another go at 2m. She will need a bit of luck coming from off the pace, which she didn't get at one vital stage at Royal Ascot, but she has a significantly longer straight here in which to make up her ground. Australis has nothing to prove here and may end up her chief rival, with Stargazer an each-way possibility at probably much bigger odds. Wide draws pose problems for Rajinsky and Alright Sunshine who would otherwise be serious each-way contenders.
Richard Austen

Windsor

1.55: Epic Endeavour

Majestic Dawn created a big impression when running away with the Cambridgeshire and he's a strong contender on this first outing since. Overwrite has some quiet runs to put behind him but he'll be a danger to all if back to his Newmarket form in April. None appeal more than Epic Endeavour (nap) though, with the four-year-old likely to leave his seasonal return well behind him. He made giant strides in the second half of 2020 and still has more to give after just nine starts.

Curragh

2.30: More Beautiful

Saxon Warrior's half-sister More Beautiful (nap) has not quite made the grade at Pattern level but looks good enough to win this off 97. New Emerald Bay and Mary Salome, an apprentice-ridden pair at the foot of the handicap, may prove dangerous. A 5lb claim will take some of the sting out of the penalty imposed on Let's for her Limerick win.
Alan Sweetman

Chester

5.40: Recon Mission

The in-form Recon Mission (nap) is a confident selection. His sixth place in the Epsom Dash can be upgraded as he had an unhelpful low draw and he's run really well on both previous visits to Chester. He emerges from stall five today, with not much obvious pace inside him, and there can be plenty of optimism that things will pan out favourably for this prominent racer. Spoof was a solid second at Windsor last time and is second choice from stall three, while Militia and Dark Shot also arrive on the back of good performances.
Ben Hutton

Doncaster

8.15: Going Underground

Steel An Icon has no penalty for Thursday's win at Nottingham and she was always repelling her pursuers there. However, her bid for a five-timer can be foiled by Going Underground (nap), who made a nice handicap debut at Windsor and, in keeping with the majority from within his yard, he can be expected to progress with his work. Qawamees gave notice at Haydock that he's ready to win again soon.
