BANKER

Bombero(3.50 Windsor)

When Windsor start hosting their Monday fixtures, you know the Flat season has begun – and I can't wait! Unfortunately, however, the weather has meant the ground will be seriously testing and it's wise to find proven heavy ground performers. Bombero is certainly that and although his forecast price doesn't suggest much value, he is definitely the horse to beat on the back of his reappearance fourth at Kempton five days ago. He ran well that day over probably a furlong too far and his win at Nottingham on heavy ground back in August of last year suggests he has rock solid claims under Silvestre de Sousa.

DARK HORSE

Harlequin Striker(5.25 Windsor)

Zlatan caught the eye towards the top of the weights and rates as a danger – and potentially a saver – but it's worth taking a chance on outsider Harlequin Striker in Windsor's finale. Dean Ivory's six-year-old may well need the run following a four-month break but he's back down to his last winning mark of 72, stays the mile trip well and loves testing conditions. Four of his six career victories have come when soft has been in the going description and despite never have ran on heavy ground, it looks sure to suit.
