Sweetspots: Appleby out to cement stellar seller record with Carthage

Simply Lucky (Southwell 4.45) has an obvious chance of following up last Wednesday’s comfortable win. Trainer Dan Skelton’s astonishing record with winners returning within a week (20-38) makes him look a good thing.
Carthage looks to have plenty to do in the amateur riders’ seller at Wolverhampton (5.50), but Mick Appleby has an outstanding record in sellers (11-22), Serena Brotherton is 30 per cent at the course and the trainer and jockey won the race last year.

Larkhall loves Southwell and has been runner-up in the 2.15 twice. He’s 3lb out of the weights but was 10lb wrong when narrowly beaten in 2015.
