Hopes are high that once-raced Ceramist can prove long absence no barrier

Whimsical Dream runs at Ripon
Whimsical Dream runs at Ripon

Newmarket: David Milnes

Ceramist (8.00 Windsor, nap)

John Gosden's filly ran into the smart Perfect Clarity when third on her only start at Nottingham last back end. The daughter of Mastercraftsman has been off since but has pleased on the Al Bahathri of late.

Others to follow

North: Colin Russell

Big Les (3.30 Ripon, nap)

Progressive three-year-old who won at Hamilton in May and followed up with a good third at Ayr. Has had a break since then but goes well fresh and goes on the ground, so he is fancied to win his second race of the season.

Others to follow
Carlisle 5.40 Sir Domino, 6.15 Yes You, 6.45 Airglow, 7.15 Island Song, 7.45 Weld Al Emarat, 8.15 Outback Blue, 8.45 Diamonds A Dancing.

Others to follow
Newton Abbot 2.20 Bailey Sunset, 3.50 The Unit, 4.20 Salto Chisco, 4.50 Little Windmill.
Ripon 4.30 Mercer's Troop, 5.00 Al Kherb.
Windsor 5.30 Miss M, 6.30 Dark Power, 7.00 Running Cloud, 8.00 Hulcote, 8.30 Spin Top.

Racing Post Ratings: Sam Walker

Laughton (5.40 Carlisle)

Long time since successful but back to form at Thirsk last week and has already gone well for promising young rider Harriet Lees. Should be bang there.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Sheepscar Lad (3.30 Ripon)

Earned an improved speed figure when touched off at Pontefract eight days ago and Nigel Tinkler's sprinter can pick up deserved compensation.

Longshot: Olly Eden

United Kingdom (8.30 Windsor)

Paul Cole's horses have been running well this fortnight, and his gelding has displayed promise in all three of his outings. Now handicapping and dropping back to 5f, he may go well at a price if improving from his seasonal reappearance in June.

Ireland: Mark Boylan

Balinaboola Steel (4.35 Cork)

There was plenty of promise to be taken from Balinaboola Steel's recent Wexford third and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Garrett Power's charge go very close in the 80-109 handicap hurdle over 2m3f. He competes off a 2lb higher mark here but he could be a tough nut to crack if everything falls right.

Whimsical Dream (2.00 Ripon)

Michael Bell is five from 14 (36 per cent, +£14.45) at Ripon since the start of 2014, breaking down to an impressive three out of four (75 per cent, +£18.20) with his two-year-olds. Therefore, his Whimsical Dream is a strong choice in the 2.00.
