Signposts: Mystic Flight set to soar to York glory for Varian

Roger Varian saddles Mystic Flight (4.50 York) for his handicap debut.
The trainer has a 21 per cent strike-rate with his handicap debutants and the gelding looks open to improvement over a mile.

Sir Mark Prescott has a 36 per cent strike-rate at York and he saddles St Michel (2.25) for another attempt at the same race in which he was third last year. This looks tougher but he was a bit unlucky 12 months ago and he is fresher than most and he could run well at big odds.
