A prominent ride from a high draw is often what’s needed on the Rowley Mile and it was hard to make up ground from the rear in the Middle Park Stakes, with the first four home described as ‘pressed leader’, ‘pressed leaders’, ‘chased leaders’ and ‘led’.

It’s possible that this quartet were flattered and I’d be more interested in the future claims of fifth-placed BECKFORD (‘held up in touch in midfield’) and sixth-placed SIOUX NATION (‘held up in touch in last pair’).
