Kempton Placepot picks: Tom Segal has three bankers in his perm

With none of the races at Kempton having more than seven runners, it will only be the first two that count in the Placepot and that can lead to a nice dividend if there are some odd results.

I doubt very much if we are going to get one of those in the bet@racingtv.com Hurdle (4.00) where last year's winner Sceau Royal stands out. He really should be too classy for his opposition on ground he'll relish.

The opening juvenile hurdle (1.40) was won by the subsequent Grade 1 winner Knight Salute last season and while it would be hard to think there is anything of his calibre running, Age Of Sail made a good impression on his debut at Chepstow recently and can be relied upon too.

It might be a bit dangerous banking on Romanor in the Racing TV Handicap Chase (3.25) as he is up the weights following two easy wins. However, he has looked a totally different horse since having a wind operation and can still race off a mark he was competitive off over hurdles in his younger days.

The winner needs to be found in two races, so it's safest to put in a couple, especially as it looks a toss up between Boombawn and Teddy Blue in the Racing TV Novices' Hurdle (2.50).

Jemima P stands out on her chase from in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Novices' Hurdle (4.35) and she gets a lot of weight with her mares allowance as well. She should really win but point-to-point winner Rock On Cowboy should be used as a safety net, with his trainer, Ben Pauling, having won this race twice recently.

There is precious little chase form of note in the Watch On Racing TV Novices' Handicap Chase (2.15), so a bit of guesswork is required. Hasty Parisian ran well in some good races over hurdles last season, though, while Presuming Ed has had a warm-up on the Flat and might to be hard to catch from the front.
