York Placepot tips: Paul Kealy gives his perm for a tricky Saturday card

As most of my main fancies are at York it makes sense to head there for the daily Placepot, even if there is a four-runner race on the card (3.05).

That's a tricky affair and I'd normally opt to put them all in, but I will be leaving out Ranch Hand as there's no evidence he needs the ground as fast as it is.

I'm keen on Byron Flyer in the opener, but Arctic Fox goes well at the track (won this race in 2019) and he looks well worth putting in too.

Queen's Sargent is the main bet in the next, but Admirality is also worth including. He hasn't cut much ice so far this season, but in three runs at York he has finished second of 20, second of 19 and seventh of 21, so a return to form off a nice mark can't be ruled out.

There are plenty of unexposed sorts in the big 6f handicap, but I'm opposing anything without handicap form and my three against the field are Jadwal, Showalong and Bickerstaffe.

Showalong is the more obvious one as he has been in cracking form, but Bickerstaffe is much better than he showed behind Jumby at Newmarket and is definitely not one to give up on.

There's not much form to go on in the next (4.15), but Bosh has just about the best form and a Group 2 entry, so he would seem a rather obvious one.

The last (4.50) is really hard, but La Trinidad shaped well here last month and can come on again, while Irv has plenty of good course form and a handicap mark off which he can be competitive.
