Tom Collins analyses the credentials of four favourites at Gulfstream Park

Field Bet
5.45 Gulfstream Park
SP forecast 5-2

Five-race maiden who is now on her third trainer and returns after a 348-day layoff. All of those factors are concerning, but the positives are that she is drawn well in gate two and has the best form in the book thanks to a couple of places in maiden claimers at Santa Anita last year. Has had only two works recently and might be underdone.

Conclusion Wouldn't play in the race but she is more of a lay than banker.

Baseline Drive
7.46 Gulfstream Park
SP forecast 2-1

Three-year-old daughter of five-time Grade 1-winner Point Of Entry out of a Scat Daddy mare, Baseline Drive has the pedigree to succeed. A first-time starter trained by Chad Brown who is ridden by Irad Ortiz will attract plenty of support but all of her rivals have experience under their belt and she is drawn in gate 11.

Conclusion Has an improving worktab but I will take her on.

Genghis
8.49 Gulfstream Park
SP forecast 9-5

Sharp two-year-old last year who won his maiden special weight contest here before being tried in three black-type contests, placing on two occasions. Struggled in higher grades on his first three starts this campaign but relished the drop to claiming company last time with an easy success despite stumbling at the start. Will only run if this race is taken off the turf.

Conclusion Banker material if this gets moved to the main track.

No No Nina
9.52 Gulfstream Park
SP forecast 8-5

A $150,000 purchase, No No Nina is winless in three outings for top connections but showed promise in maiden special weight company on her first two outings and went close when dropped in grade last time. She found just one too good last time after a bump at the start. Only runner in this field without Lasix.

Conclusion Should go one better if this race remains on turf.
