Tom Collins analyses the credentials of five favourites in the US on Sunday

Doll Collection
7.15 Gulfstream Park
SP forecast 8-5

Well-bred daughter of Tapit who sets the standard in this maiden special weight contest after five similar performances last year. Never finished worse than fourth but hasn't properly threatened the judge yet. Has to give 6lb to two first-time starters who represent strong connections.

Conclusion Grand Cru Classe is a big danger based on her worktab but Doll Collection is a worthy favourite.

Man With A Plan
7.46 Gulfstream Park
SP forecast 2-1

Speedy colt trained by Todd Pletcher, who doesn't have many runners in this grade. The only three-year-old in the field, so receives a nice weight-for-age allowance, and is a two-time winner at this track. Draw (gate 12) is a worry but the booking of Emisael Jaramillo suggests he will look for the outright lead.

Conclusion Too short on three-year-old debut as he could have a wide trip with plenty of pace in this race.

Fuddled
8.16 Gulfstream Park
SP forecast 9-5

European-bred filly who cost a fair chunk at the 2017 Tattersalls Yearling Sales. Didn't make her debut until she was a four-year-old but ran with plenty of credit when second to an experienced rival at this track in March. Drawn well today and should get the perfect run through behind American Goddess.

Conclusion Will win if Maggie Fitz (dirt only) doesn't run.

Sky Jumper
10.39 Santa Anita
SP forecast 6-5

Most of these look pretty exposed but that is not the case for Sky Jumper, who has a record of one victory from three outings and represents the all-conquering Bob Baffert barn. Has shown good speed on each outing and drops back to a sprinting trip after being tried over a mile last time.

Conclusion This looks a good bit of race placing. Should win this by a margin.

Kobe Fifty Two
10.55 Gulfstream Park
SP forecast 8-5

Completely unexposed sprinter who will attract plenty of market support thanks to his intriguing profile of one win from one start. Showed bright pace on debut when he set quick fractions and stayed on powerfully. Will look to adopt the same tactics here from gate seven.

Conclusion Could be anything but wouldn't be one that I would rush to back at the forecast price.
