The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon

EYECATCHER

(4.10 Ascot)

Three-year-old Achelois and Appellation receive plenty of weight from their elders, but have to improve to beat Caspian Queen, who beat a good field over 7f on her penultimate start at Kempton. The Sean Woods-trained filly was given a 2lb rise for that success and caught the eye off her new mark at Royal Ascot when she took seventh in the Kensington Palace Stakes. She was ridden patiently in a race that favoured those on the speed, so can be marked up for her effort, which saw her pass beaten rivals in the straight. The smaller field may allow her to use her turn of foot to better effect.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Ropey Guest (3.50 Newmarket)

There is no denying that Ropey Guest finds it hard to win – his career record (1-18) proves that – but he has the talent to contest Group races and appears well treated now down to a career-low mark of 98. The George Margarson-trained four-year-old wasn't beaten far into third in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes at this meeting last year and is given a bit of class relief in this handicap. He was drawn on the wrong side of the track last time at Ascot and is worth another chance.
