Bred for the Flat and duly won a Listed bumper at Newbury on his third career start, House Island developed into a smart novice hurdler last year and following a victory at this venue, he went onto take the runner-up spot in Grade 2 company at Sandown. He tackled stiff competition in the final two starts last year at Cheltenham and made a nice chase debut earlier this month on his return. House Island jumped well throughout and this looks like a nice spot for him to get off the mark over fences.
