The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' free horseracing tip on Boxing Day

BANKER

One Cool Poet (1.40 Leopardstown)

Trainer Matthew Smith worked wonders with One Cool Poet in 2019 to mastermind a year that saw his star’s Flat mark rise from 62 to 100. That huge improvement marks him down as potentially thrown in over hurdles off a mark of 102 and he should take all the beating in this 2m novice handicap at Leopardstown. The eight-year-old ran a couple of nice races on the Flat at Dundalk this month to tee himself up for this, while there wasn’t much wrong with his hurdling the last time he was seen in this discipline over two years ago. One Cool Poet ran the second of those Dundalk races on December 18 but he thrives on racing and the reasonably quick turnaround holds no fears. He scored twice in two days at Galway last year and six weeks later won a premier handicap at the Curragh the day after running at Leopardstown.
