The Colin Tizzard stable had a dip in form last month but look to be on the comeback trail and a running theme of the season has been their horses making the most of their handicap marks having underperformed last season, and this six-year-old may well be another. He caught the eye when back in fourth at Newton Abbot in October, racing in rear but staying on nicely to finish fourth – the front two were well clear but almost all of the winners on that card made all. It was all change next time as he was dropped into handicap level, upped in trip, ridden more positively and tested at a track which would suit better. He looked the most likely winner turning in but just did not quite get home. There were positives - he jumped and travelled well - and is worth another chance dropping in trip. This 2m2½f could well unlock significant improvement. Additionally the softer ground should suit him better too given his pedigree, while no jockey has ridden more winners at Exeter this season than Brendan Powell. This is a pretty open race and he looks a great bet at the prices.
