The Punt Acca: Robbie Wilders' horse racing tips at Newcastle on Saturday

Glen Shiel(2.25 Newcastle)

Three-year-old filly Sense Of Duty looks a short-priced favourite to oppose in the Chipchase Stakes given she has no all-weather form to her name and little in her pedigree, while she only receives 10lb from Glen Shiel. The Archie Watson-trained eight-year-old is a true Group 1 performer, winning one and finishing runner-up in three others, and has three victories, a second and a third from three starts at Newcastle. He hasn't been running badly in better races this season and looks real value at the early prices.

Monsieur Lambrays (2.55 Newcastle)

Stall one has proved a graveyard box in the Northumberland Vase over the years and Monsieur Lambrays must overcome that. However, Zeeband won from stall two last year and low-drawn runners obliged in the previous two seasons. Monsieur Lambrays appeals as one of the best-handicapped horses in the field and bounced back to form from nowhere when finishing first past the post (placed second) at Epsom at a big price over 1m6f last time. He needs a trip and an extra two furlongs here will help on just his fourth start for Richard Fahey.

Onesmoothoperator(3.30 Newcastle)

The Northumberland Plate can go the way of Onesmoothoperator for Brian Ellison. Onesmoothoperator loves Newcastle and ran an excellent third to Earlofthecotswolds off level weights in the All Weather Marathon here a couple of starts back. He finished in close proximity to plenty of higher-rated horses that day and proved he belongs at a higher level when beaten less than five lengths by Without A Fight in a York Listed race on his next start. 3lb well-in after that career-best effort, this improving four-year-old should go close.
