Royal Ascot Placepot tips: Paul Kealy provides his perm for day four

There are 15 runners in the opening leg (2.30) of the Royal Ascot day four Placepot, but the market looks to have it right as and Hello You both achieved an unusually high level of form on their debuts.

It will take three good horses to keep both of them out of the frame, but I'll just go with Flotus, who did plenty wrong in the early stages at Goodwood and whose connections believe she'll be better on better ground.

We only need one non-runner to shuffle the places down to two in the next (3.05) and it's quite a tight heat despite what he market says.

I'll go with Derby winner Adayar's Sandown conqueror , but add the consistent as back-up just in case.

In the Commonwealth Cup (3.40) Campanelle hasn't run for a while and Suesa didn't get the rain she probably needed, so I'm happy to side with and impressive All-Weather Championship winner .

Two of my big fancies of the day are in the next (4.20) – and – and neither is market leader, but if neither makes the frame I'll be very disappointed and a fair bit poorer!

It gets monstrously hard after that, with 30 fillies to deal with in the Sandringham (5.00), and my three against the field are , and .

The last (5.35) is no easier, but looked very good at Haydock and is gradually being teased back to his best by Alan King and they'll do for me.

Tote win and place pools will be operating on all days of Royal Ascot as part of the World Pool established by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. This means the pools will be larger and more stable but for each-way punters it means payouts will be based on three places only in races of seven runners and upwards rather than four places for handicaps of 16 runners or more. This does not apply to the Placepot or other multiple bets where four places in handicaps of more than 16 runners still applies.
