Tote Placepot: Richard Birch has a pair of bankers in his Exeter perm

There was much to like about the victory of Jonjo O’Neill’s promising stayer Henry Gondoff at Wetherby in January.

Rockstar Ronnie, the 11-length runner-up, has since franked the form, so let’s bank on Henry Gondoff in leg one (12.30) of the Exeter Placepot.

Five Star Getaway rates the likeliest winner of leg two (1.00) if able to reproduce last Wednesday’s Wincanton performance but if the race comes too soon, Jarlath can take full advantage.

Killer Kane is the second banker when he tackles leg three (1.35), but leg four (2.05) looks less straightforward.

Exeter racecard and betting

Amarillo Sky compromised his chance by pulling too hard at Warwick. If he proves more amenable to restraint, a mark of 115 ought to not prove beyond him.

Fergal O’Brien is a dab hand at getting horses to win first time after a long absence, so Paxman, who once changed hands for £110,000, also merits inclusion.

Lord Napier has the form to be a major player in leg five (2.40), a race which could see Zyon take a step forward now switched to fences.

Sandford Castle brings solid recent form to leg six (3.10), while Bogoss Du Perret remains well treated and should enjoy the drying ground.
