Owen aims to build on 33-1 and 14-1 places with two Thursday York tips

He has very little room for manoeuvre off his current rating, but Revich (18-1) is very consistent in these types of competitive mile handicaps and is unlikely to be far away once more.

His last three starts have seen him place in three valuable handicaps, latterly the Golden Mile at Goodwood in which he arrived on the scene too late. The handicapper has left his mark unchanged and returning to a galloping track should play to his strengths.

There are likely to be better-handicapped individuals in this race, but his consistency always brings him into play and with a strong pace almost guaranteed, I struggle to see him outside the enhanced place terms.

Luna Dorada

The market is saturated by a trio of promising prospects, but it is easy to pick holes in their chances and I will be siding with Luna Dorada (33-1), who can reverse the placings of a previous encounter with Golden Lyra.

Her first two starts came at York, winning her only two-year-old start over a mile before finding things happening too soon on her return in the Musidora. She was behind Golden Lyra on her most recent start Newbury, but she hung that day and shaped as though she needed further.

She is now back at a venue she is familiar with and has an extra two furlongs to tackle. With just four lengths to find, I think a reversal is a distinct possibility with that rival, especially as she still falls into the 'could be anything' bracket.
