Newmarket Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his picks for the popular Tote bet

The Placepot looks tricky at Newmarket but it could pay a handsome dividend as a result.

The Cornwallis Stakes (1.50) kicks things off and this is possibly the toughest race on the card. Prince Of Pillo has to go in, but he’s no certainty and Maylandsea goes in alongside.

Small Oasis is a fascinating runner in the Oh So Sharp (2.25) and should be included. Youngest made a promising debut at Leicester and rates the next best in an open contest.

Pogo is rock solid in the Challenge Stakes (3.00) and rates banker material, while in the following Fillies’ Mile (3.35), it’s hard to see defeat for Commissioning and she can be relied on.

Educator is one of my best bets of the day in the 1m4f handicap (4.10), but it’s another open contest. Godolphin won this last season with Siskany and their First Ruler could go well.

Godolphin could hold the key to the last leg (4.45) with newcomer Dream Of Love. However, it’s also worth including form horse Mubhijah.
