Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for Wednesday's six meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Bath

8.50: Night Eagle

Although Toybox and Boy George make some appeal, this may be fought out by last-time-out winners Love Of Zoffany and Night Eagle. The first-named is actually 3lb lower than for his victory but the selection has winning form over C&D and, with fewer miles on the clock, is open to greater improvement.
Keith McHugh

Salisbury

3.55: Alpine Stroll

Topweight Lord Protector is unbeaten after three starts and naturally a striking candidate but watch out also for the six-race maiden Alpine Stroll at the foot of the weights. He finished on the heels of Love Is Golden, another respected runner, at Chester three starts ago and is weighted to turn the tables. He has continued to run well and his stamina is well established. Zuraig has clear potential stepping up in trip and Godolphin's Bandinelli is unexposed.
Richard Austen

Kempton

8.10: Viola

James Fanshawe's filly Viola is forgiven a flat run here on her final start of 2020 and showed on her reappearance that she is still improving. She should make light of the slight drop back in trip and is taken to score again. Cozone and Oh It's Saucepot are others with claims.
Jonathan Doidge

Carlisle

2.55: Jackhammer

Solid contestant Jackhammer is taken to win this race for the second time and enhance his good course record. Unexposed rivals Havana Party and Makeen are feared most, in that order. Judged on their soft-ground form here last month, Tangled and Soaring Star would deserve respect if the going softens.
Steve Boow

Worcester

4.20: Your Band

After a narrow defeat at Aintree 12 days ago, Your Band can gain compensation in a race where few make strong appeal. Hardy old warrior Byron Flyer may provide most danger, ahead of Pagero.
Jonathan Neesom

Naas

8.00: Hamwood Flier

Baldomero has a poor draw to overcome but has plenty of ability, while the recently gelded Chicago Black Hawk has a couple of disappointing efforts to bounce back from. Newcomer Mutasarref make plenty of appeal on pedigree, but preference is for Hamwood Flier, a consistent performer in maidens with a good draw in her favour and capable of winning a maiden of this class.
