Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's three meetings

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ludlow

3.00: Malaita
Several of these are going the right way. Clearcut Fakenham scorer Terresita is not opposed lightly despite an 8lb higher mark, while Glimpse Of Gala also gives the impression there's more in the tank. However, Malaita is an even more appealing proposition on her handicap debut with her course form from last time working out so well. Her main threat could be So Said I whose fourth in a big field at Ascot is rock solid.

Wincanton

1.45: Imphal

Given he was badly hampered by two first-flight fallers at Ascot last month, Imphal did remarkably well to finish second behind a very well-handicapped opponent. Off today's 2lb higher mark, he is selected to collect his fourth win of the season. Lord Of Kerak could have untapped potential over 3m and is feared most. St Barts has a point to prove after a disappointing seasonal debut but may also feature.

Thursday cards

Newcastle

3.55: One Punch Terri

The pair to appeal most are the four-year-old fillies One Punch Terri and Rose Of Lancashire. The selection is the least exposed runner in the field and did more than enough over 1m4f here last time to think she could win a similar event.
