Preference is for Rafiki (nap) who, judged on Flat form, has been let in lightly on his handicap hurdle debut. Red Vision, another runner who looks open to further progress over hurdles, is second choice ahead of recent course-and-distance scorer Long Call.

3.55: Hilary's Boy

The three-year-old Hilary's Boy (nap) is at the top of his game and earns the vote ahead of Obee Jo, who won on the last occasion he tackled a Class 6 handicap. Last-time-out Beverley winner Stoney Lane is another to consider.

2.40: Royal Scholar

RPRs would imply Royal Scholar (nap) should not be in this grade. Either way, his form credentials are rock-solid. His trainer's father provides a danger in Celtic Revival, who did indeed have a revival last time. Vlad The Impaler might be worth a little check in the wagering.

1.30: Midgetonamission

This is easier for Grant Me Serenity now handicapping but a poor all-weather debut last time, when going beyond 1m for the first time, leaves her with something to prove. Lark Lane has still to prove his stamina and this looks good for Midgetonamission (nap), who boasts a fair record over course and distance.

7.00: Moe Sedway

Quite a bit of deadwood here, with Moe Sedway (nap), Relevant Range and Solar Breeze on paper appearing to be head and shoulders ahead of the rest, although improvement from Bambeano would be no real surprise. Of the trio, Noel Meade's charge appeals most. Not the first time, he was narrowly denied on his latest start, but his battling qualities are far from under scrutiny for now, and a win here would be just reward for his fine runs in defeat.

7.20: Elena's Gift

Most of these have something to prove and the one that stands out is Ralph Beckett's lightly-raced filly Elena's Gift (nap), who has really got her act together with her front-running wins at Beverley and here in her last two starts. She's open to more progress on her step up to this trip and should take some stopping in her bid to make it 3-4 in handicaps. The main threat could come from another three-year-old in Charles St, who has a solid record this season and could find something extra in new headgear.
