Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Top tips from Lingfield, Salisbury, Beverley, Ffos Las, Leopardstown and Tramore

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Beverley

4.30: Temper Trap

It is hard to oppose Temper Trap, who won an apprentice handicap at Ripon on Monday and is able to run off the same mark. Dr Rio arrives in good form but the chief danger may be the lightly raced 4yo Barrister Blaster, who made an encouraging stable debut at Carlisle recently when denied a clear run. The return to this course might be a positive for the 3yo Moon Over The Sea. Ben Hutton

Ffos Las

3.30: Gilt Edge

Among several interesting contenders, Bibulous (second choice) has been knocking at the door, Dora Penny is on a hat-trick and Me Next could be unexposed as a sprinter, but preference is for the well-handicapped Gilt Edge who comes alive on this course and shaped as if coming to the boil last time. Richard O'Brien

Leopardstown

7.20: Boundless Ocean

Having been impressive when winning the Group 3 Meld Stakes over 1m1f here last time, Boundless Ocean is taken to win this back in trip even though he carries a 3lb penalty. Marbling also carries a 3lb penalty but should be suited by this step-up trip, while her stablemate Juncture can go well fresh and is a danger.

Lingfield

7.40: Neandra

The lightly raced filly Neandra bolted up over C&D on last month's handicap debut and an 8lb rise may underestimate her. Fellow 3yo Storm Castle also has considerable potential and he is feared most. The 4yo Purple Ribbon has won two of his three starts and is an intriguing contender on this first outing of the year, while Old Port and Sophosc have been running well lately. Ben Hutton

Salisbury

4.45: Dal Mallart

The handicap debutante Sea On Time was defeated only once, on her debut, in her first three runs and has proved her stamina, unlike the other two. However, Dal Mallart is going from strength to strength and the new trip should not be a problem for her. Peripatetic produced her best form over 1m2f on her last two starts, making late headway at Glorious Goodwood last time, so she is also taken seriously. Richard Austen

Tramore

6.00: True Faith

There has been plenty to like about True Faith's introduction to fences this term and with further progress on the cards, he could be hard to beat. Stablemate Gateau De Miel could be the main danger after his promising chase debut when last seen. Phill Anderson
