3.10:Military Two Step
An interesting staying contest can go to Military Two Step, who was impressive on her only attempt at 2m and whose pedigree suggests she'll be even better suited by this longer distance. Fellow 3yo Tashkhan is thriving and should provide the sternest opposition, with Let Me Be and Prince Imperial also respected.
Last-time winners Point Louise and Hurricane Helen have a bit to prove back in handicap company and it is Yanifer, who is taken to defy his penalty and complete a hat-trick, after appearing to have a bit more up his sleeve last time. My Boy Charles may prove to be his most serious threat now back over this trip.
Multiple course winner Esspeegee turned things around with a close call over C&D three weeks ago when he pulled well clear of the third. He remains well treated off only 2lb higher here and gets the vote ahead of Seagulls Nest, who returned to form with a creditable third at Windsor and is a big player if she can back that up.
ProgressiveVino Victrix should benefit from this first crack at 2m and the form of his Sandown win looks bombproof, so he should be able to defy a 7lb rise in the weights. Forever William and Khaiz should both benefit from 2m too.
The 3yo filly Moonlit Night ran a promising first race for George Boughey at Thirsk and there's good reason to believe she can find plenty on that form. Flying Standard has gone really close in his last two runs on grass and this front-runner will need to be reeled in. Overthink may have some potential lurking now he's been gelded.
1.45:Ten Ten Twenty
This looks like a good opportunity forTen Ten Twentyto get off the mark. He's due to go up 2lb for an excellent second at Galway on Sunday and he might be able to get rid of the maiden tag with the champion jockey taking over. Any rain would probably enhanceClew Bay'schance and First Bloodmight be able to build on his handicap debut last time.
