Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Goodwood

2.50: Secret Shadow

Yesterday's rain swings it in favour of SECRET SHADOW who did so well and looked so promising in the mud last term. It also boosts the chance of Surrey Gold (second choice), Inchinore and Morando. Respect is also needed for Oman but all of them bring something positive.
Richard Austin

Haydock

2.00: Valley Forge

Bandinelli is not passed over at all lightly following his two wins over 2m on the Kempton all-weather, latterly in the Queen's Prize, but VALLEY FORGE has not yet raced over 2m and he's shaped increasingly as if it will suit him very well. The selection was a big-race winner last season at the York Ebor meeting in the Melrose. Just Hubert, third in this race last year, looks primed for another big run, as does Haveyoumissedme following his good run in the Chester Plate.

Curragh

4:30: Moracana

There could be more to come from MORACANA who was having only her fourth start when making a winning handicap debut at Leopardstown. A renewal of Cork rivalry between Safecracker, Mashhoor and Golden Twilight could have a significant bearing on the outcome. Annexation is another with a definite chance.
Alan Sweetman

York

2.55: Look Out Louis

There is a good spread of pace across the track. The admirable Copper Knight (second choice) should be at concert pitch now and commands plenty of respect, while the Michael Dods-trained pair Jawwaal and Sir Titus also have something to recommend them. LOOK OUT LOUIS looks better than ever at the age of six, however, and he won with much more authority than the winning margin of a head suggests at Chester last time.
Paul Smith

Musselburgh

4.13: Nathanael Greene

Others have stronger form credentials than narrow Chepstow winner NATHANAEL GREENE, but these Haggas horses can improve at a rate of knots once getting on a roll and the stable has won the past two runnings of this race. Charles St probably bumped into one at Doncaster and he's the second choice, with big runs also expected from Hilts, State Legend and Trojan Horse.
Alistair Jones

Stratford

6.00: Give Me A Moment

There is no strong temptation to oppose course-and-distance winner GIVE ME A MOMENT, who was too strong for another very progressive horse when completing a hat-trick at Market Rasen last month and is evidently thriving. Fanzio is not one to rely upon too heavily but he runs this track very well and lurks on a dangerous mark. Light N Strike and Fat Sam can also feature.
Chris Wilson

Lingfield

5.45: Mercian Hymn

Course-and-distance winner Party Island has to be taken seriously, with no doubts over his ability to handle these conditions, but MERCIAN HYMN is preferred. A dual winner on the all-weather late last year, he was only just beaten on last month's Windsor reappearance and, with the return to this trip likely to suit, he can go one better.
