Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Epsom

8.50: Boy George

Most of these bring very ropey credentials, whereas Boy George has been on a roll in recent starts under similar conditions and he put up a good fight at Brighton last time when thwarted in his hat-trick bid. Myriad is relatively lightly raced and has 1m4f form, so he is feared most, ahead of last Friday's 1m2f AW winner Night Eagle.
Richard Austen

Haydock

1.00: Lotus Rose

So Smart and Van Gerwen have claims in an open event but the one that appeals most is Lotus Rose. Roger Fell's filly, who won't mind any of the forecast showers, returned to winning ways at Redcar last time and that form could hardly have worked out any better with the four immediately behind her all winning since.

Newbury

8.08: Wonder Starelzaam

It's tough to ignore the claims of Wonder Starelzaam who had something to spare in a course apprentice race last Tuesday and is able to race from the same mark here (due to be 7lb higher from Saturday). Precisely ran well back on turf last time and can fight it out for minor honours with the likes of Katyusha and Pledge of Honour. There's also still time for Lost Gold to get his career back on track.
Andrew Sheret

Perth

2.40: Stoner's Choice

This can go to Stoner's Choice who made a sparkling chase debut at Kempton and does not look overburdened off this mark on his hurdle form. Saint Arvans gets plenty of weight and looks the biggest danger ahead of Ash Tree Meadow, as Grisbi De Berce needs to prove himself over the longest trip he's tackled and Saint D'oroux has no public experience of fences.
Emily Weber

Yarmouth

2.20: Clement Danes

The George Boughey-trained Clement Danes did well to finish third on her recent handicap debut at Chepstow having failed to handle the undulating track, and she holds appealing claims now on a flat course. Doncaster runner-up Clipsham Gold could be the main danger, ahead of Must Be Royale whose Goodwood run can be excused on account of the soft ground. Cubanista is a possible improver in first-time cheekpieces.
