Graeme Rodway with an affordable perm for the Placepot at Kempton

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

There will be testing ground for the jumps cards, so it may be worth focusing on the all-weather action at Kempton for a crack at the Placepot.

Just Beautiful had a useful subsequent winner behind when making a successful debut over course and distance last month and is banker material in the opener (4.25).

Ryan Moore has five rides at the course and one of his best chances goes in the mile maiden (5.00). Dollar Bid sets the standard on his second at Wolverhampton last time and is a banker.

The mile nursery (5.30) looks an open race. Dark Motive could go well if she can reproduce her debut run at Newbury, but it’s worth including the improving Mickydee for Moore again.

The 6f handicap (6.00) is a cracking race for the time of year. The Cruising Lord has the ability to run well and I also like the chances of Recon Mission, who is coming back to form.

Moore appears to have another sound chance with Rydan in the 2m handicap (6.30), so stick with him and Blazon, who represents the in-form Kim Bailey stable.

The first division of the 1m3f handicap (7.00) is the last leg. Divine Consent could bounce back to form in a hood on debut for John Butler, but Diva Kareem is a more solid option.
