Graeme Rodway has a Placepot perm for a competitive card at Beverley

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

The draw is crucial over 5f at Beverley and you need to be low, so stick with the experience of Enderman and the promise of newcomer Noorban coming from stalls one and two in the opener (1.30).

Only four line up in the 5f nursery (2.00) so you need to find the winner. I’ll go with J R Cavagin, Brazen Belle and Mokaman and pray that Roydmoor doesn’t upset the apple cart.

The 5f handicap (2.30) is wide-open so stick with the low draws again. Poppy Jag (stall one), Alisia R (four) and Heartstar (five) would be my three against the field.

Master Of Brazil has shown plenty of ability on the all-weather and should make the places in the 7f maiden (3.00) from a good draw in stall two if he can reproduce that level on turf.

The draw could be the key again in the 7½f handicap (3.30) and I’ll be going with The Big House and Ventura Rascal, who are coming from stalls one and two.

Bottom Bay was impressive when winning over course and distance last time and can’t be ignored in the last leg (4.00), but Dramatic Sands might respond well to first-time blinkers and is also included.
