Goodwood Placepot tips: Paul Kealy provides his perm on day two

The opening leg at Goodwood (1.50) is seriously tough but is hard to leave out given he is likely to improve for the trip and will handle the ground.

I wouldn't back him to win because of the odds, but he's the one I like most at the head of the market and he goes in with soft-ground performers and .

, back at the scene of her runaway Group win as a juvenile, is quite a strong fancy in leg two (2.25), but is also arguably overpriced back on soft ground.

She hasn't quite been at her best this term but won in Listed company over 7f on heavy ground here last season and then wasn't beaten far in the Champions Sprint at Ascot.

I'm far from convinced about Chipotle on the ground in leg three (3.00) and impressive Sandown winner is preferred of those at the head of the market, while there's a good chance , drawn on the rail, will handle conditions.

I've had a speculative each-way bet on French outsider Duhail in the Sussex (3.35) but is obviously the one to beat and, while he'd prefer it quicker, his form on soft ground is good enough to win, let alone be placed. He's a banker for the three.

There's not much soft-ground form to go on in the next (4.10) but Albany seventh was a major step up on her previous form, while won her maiden on soft and is a daughter of Aclaim, who won a soft-ground Prix de la Foret. She's also a half-sister to progressive soft-ground winner Rhoscolyn.

In the last (4.45) I'll go with dual heavy-ground winner and , beaten at a short price on quick ground last time but an easy winner the time before on soft in a race that worked out really well.
