Chelmsford Placepot picks: Paul Kealy has a crack at the £100k pool

Chelmsford seems to be the default destination for the Tote's £100k Placepot guarantee on a Thursday and we've got another competitive card.

I'm going to take a risk by starting with a banker in the opener (4.30) as Villalobos is one of the least exposed in the race and seems to be improving as he has run career bests on his last two starts on Polytrack.

If in the same form as when second at Lingfield last week, he should be placed at least.

In the next (5.00) George Ridsdale bounced back to form last time, but is none too consistent, so he's opposed with Master Grey, who has largely been consistent this year, and Persian Wolf, who may appreciate coming back to 1m2f.

The third (5.30) is a minefield. Although Attrazione is likely to be a clear favourite, he tends to make enough trouble for himself and has a big field to tackle.

Ok Pal ran into a well-treated rival last time and needs this extra furlong, so he is preferred, although I'm adding Little Roman and Skyblue Expert in a race which requires coverage.

Even the novices are difficult, but Beelzebub has shown enough to warrant consideration in the first of them (6.00) and Baahill is the most interesting newcomer.

Once-raced pair The Xo and Demi Pointe are the selections for the fifth (6.30), and although you could make a case for any of the five in a tight feature (7.00), my two against the upped-in-class Darwell Lion are the well handicapped Azano and Excel Power.
