Carlisle Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway has a 48-line perm for ladies' night

It's ladies' night at Carlisle and a plethora of handicaps means the Placepot might pay well.

The opening 5f handicap (4.50) kicks off a competitive card and course specialist Sharrabang looks sure to run well, while Quanah has solid form at this trip and looks the best alternative.

Langholm has been in good form over 7f recently and might be dangerous in the 6f handicap (5.25) now he is dropped in trip on this stiff track. It’s a risk, but I’m going to bank on him.

The 1m1f handicap (6.00) is another wide-open race and let’s hope all eight runners line up. The consistent Spiritofthenorth must be included, along with easy Beverley scorer Strawman.

The mile handicap (6.30) looks close to impossible, so let’s go for coverage. Strangerontheshore, Perfect Soldier and Bawaader look the best three against the field.

The second division (7.00) isn’t much easier, but One For The Ladies is lightly raced and could have more to offer after a good second at Beverley last time. Chinese Spirit is the best alternative.

Baltic Baron and Al Erayg are the standout performers in the last (7.30), another mile handicap.
