Carlisle Placepot perm: Graeme Rodway with his picks on Go North weekend

There are plenty of competitive races in the Placepot at Carlisle, but the opening 2m3½f novice hurdle (1.53) isn’t one of them.

Just three line up and the winner will be needed. It looks like a two-horse race between Gredin and Palm Beach, and it’s worth including both.

The 2m handicap chase (2.26) is an open race. Seemorelights has a big chance if he handles the ground and the track. However, those are doubts, so it’s also worth putting in Cenotice.

The 2m1f mares’ handicap hurdle (3.01) isn’t an easy race to assess and only two places are on offer. Take a chance on Annies Regatta but also put the consistent Timetoroe in the perm.

Scottish Accent has an outstanding chance in the 2m4f handicap chase (3.36) and is a banker.

Not many line up in the 3m1f handicap hurdle (4.11) and let’s hope all five stand their ground. Provided two places are on offer it looks worth siding with Art Of Diplomacy.

Magna Sam has been in super form at Musselburgh and has a big chance of completing a hat-trick in the 3m½f handicap chase (4.43). It’s also worth putting in Event Of Sivola.
