Ayr Placepot tips: Richard Birch with a 16-line perm for the Scottish meeting

Scudamore proved a revelation when romping home in his first handicap by six lengths at Southwell last month.

The handicapper has hit him with a 10lb rise, but he is still rated only 60 and can complete his double in leg one (5.25) of the Ayr Placepot. Man Of Verve, a close Newcastle third to hot favourite Well Planted on his latest start, should make the frame once more.

Give ‘Em The Slip, Charlie Hills’s only runner at the meeting, should lead her rivals a merry dance in leg two (6.00) now back down in trip to 6f.

Zoravan should go well in leg three (6.30), a comment which also applies to the hat-trick-seeking Perfect Soldier. Andrew Breslin’s 5lb claim on Perfect Soldier gives the seven-year-old every chance of achieving that feat.

Caballero and Coviglia, twice a winner on fast ground at the Scottish track, are the pair to focus on in leg four (7.05), while likeable four-year-old Hong Kong Harry, successful in three of his four starts, will be hard to beat in leg five (7.35) off a still workable mark of 81.

Dream With Me and Home Before Dusk complete the perm in leg six (8.05).
