Ascot Placepot picks: Paul Kealy with his perm for a super Saturday

There are small fields wherever you go over jumps but at least Ascot has some competitive heats, so that's the chosen destination for a Placepot.

Hayedo, who made all for a wide-margin success at Hereford last time, is the selection in the opener (12.35) together with Twilight Twist, whose fourth in a hot race at Cheltenham represents solid form in the context of this race.

In the next (1.10) Cat Tiger needs to be delivered late and he threw it away at Doncaster last time, but he only needs to finish in the first three here and is banker material to do that.

My two against the field for punting purposes in the next (1.45) are Smurphy Enki and Stoner's Choice, but it's competitive and we'll add the strong-travelling Unexpected Party, who should be able to creep into contention late on.

Leg four should be between three of the six runners and with Molly Ollys Wishes putting in her worst performance for a while here last time, I'll go with Irish raider My Sister Sarah and the ex-Irish-trained Western Victory, who is now with Emma Lavelle.

Killer Clown and Phoenix Way have strong chances in the next, while we'll bank on Shishkin winning the big match in the Clarence House as he looked awesome at Kempton.
