Thursday bets: our expert tipsters provide their best selections

Handicappers' nap

Big Storm Coming (7.40 Epsom)

Back to winning ways when successful here last week and, despite a penalty, is still 1lb lower than when winning this race last year. Every chance of making it three from three over course and distance.

Newmarket nap

Making History (2.20 Leicester)

Ran well enough when third at Windsor last time to suggest this longer trip would suit. Saeed bin Suroor's youngster has since moved well on Warren Hill.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Allegiant (7.10 Epsom)

A previous Epsom winner who is often taken back early. He had to pull out to get a run last time before finishing well, but too late to catch the winner. He doesn't have many miles on the clock and can continue to improve.

Irish Angle

Wait Here (4.25 Killarney)

A dual winner over hurdles two seasons back and placed a few times since, the Austin Leahy-trained six-year-old has solid claims in this 2m1f handicap, in which he has good prospects of reversing placings with the hat-trick-seeking Ming Dynasty at the weights.
Tony O'Hehir

Speed figures

Peace Prevails (8.15 Epsom)

Earned her best figures of the season when ending her lean spell in convincing fashion over course and distance earlier this month and can follow up from the foot of the handicap.
Dave Edwards

Spotlights nap

Big Storm Coming (7.40 Epsom)

This nine-year-old had been badly out of form this season until winning decisively over course and distance last week. Still 1lb lower even under his penalty than when winning this last year on his only other run at Epsom. Big chance of making it career win number 11.
Mel Cullinan

Dark horse

Herringswell (2.30 Chepstow)

Has been regressive on the all-weather recently but those efforts have come over further than this trip. The return to turf and 7f should suit, and she's now dropped 11lb below her sole career victory.
Ben Harris

Must-have stat of the day

Trainer Archie Watson is 4-8 in non-handicaps at Hamilton, improving to 3-4 with those who are unraced or have had one start previously. Point Of Order fits the latter statistic in the 1.40.
