The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Wednesday

DARK HORSE

Fayez (4.20 Newcastle)

There looks to be a bit of pace on in this mile handicap and although Fayez may be facing a couple of improving types, he looks a value bet at double-figure odds. A four-time winner on the all-weather, Fayez, who will be played late, is just 1lb higher than his last winning mark and can be excused his most recent start when not helped by a muddling pace over 1m2f. Back to his ideal trip, the five-year-old is worth following and will go close if repeating his penultimate performance when second over this course and distance.

IRISH ANGLE

Tungsten Kid (4.25 Punchestown)

Although he is expected to open at around 6-1, I wouldn't be surprised if John Brassil's unexposed seven-year-old is gambled before they set off in this 80-95 handicap as he looks an improving type who could be ahead of his lowly mark of 80. Tungsten Kid didn't show much on his first six starts but he put in an eyecatching performance over 2m when ridden patiently back in November and has knocked on the door the last twice when upped in trip. He's open to further improvement over 2m4f, especially if his jumping has improved since he was last seen.
