The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday

GOOD THING

Colwood(7.25 Chelmsford)

This is a pretty weak contest and Mundersfield will catch the eye of many off a mark of 60, but I prefer Robert Eddery's Colwood, who put up a much improved effort last time out to land a staying contest at Southwell. That came over 2m2½f and while the drop back in trip isn't necessarily a plus, he looks likely to improve on just his third start for the trainer having moved from France. He's rated just 6lb higher than last time out and his RPR on that occasion of 72 suggests he's still well handicapped.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Croeso Cymraeg (1.15 Southwell)

Trainer James Evans has his small string in fine form and he could have another winner at a big price in the shape of this five-year-old gelding. Making just his sixth career start, Croeso Cymraeg has run two excellent races at large prices for Evans since moving from John Spearing and looks well-enough handicapped to win off this mark of 46. His hold-up style doesn't necessarily suit this track where the kickback can be fierce, but he ran well on his penultimate start here and is worth an each-way bet.
