The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday

BANKER

British Art(2.35 Clonmel)

One of the biggest eyecatchers in recent weeks, British Art ran out an easy winner at Down Royal on Boxing Day when given a waiting ride by Barry Browne and looked unlucky not to follow up off a 5lb higher mark at Naas last time out. He travelled like the winner that day but made a mistake at a crucial stage and was on the backfoot from then on. He finished like he had plenty left in the tank, though, and this contest looks much easier on paper. There's a doubt that this dual-purpose gelding won't see out the new trip, but the way he hit the line last time suggested he should.

GOOD THING

Baratineur(3.15 Catterick)

Eight-year-old gelding who has had plenty of trainers throughout his career but is looking very well handicapped now off a mark in the 80s, and trainer Sam England is well adept at revitalising horses. Smashed in the market on debut for the yard on New Year's Day (sent off at 11-8), Baratineur was given a waiting ride before moving through the field easily and looking the likely winner coming into the straight. He found one too good that day, but maybe a lack of recent run told and he's sure to be fitter this time around.
