BANKER

Cubomania(5.15 Ayr)

Although Gordon Elliott's Cubomania is predicted to go off around the 3-1 mark, I wouldn't be surprised if he started near the 5-4 mark as he's extremely well-treated on the Flat and is in fine form of late. The five-year-old gelding has won three of four starts this summer (only defeat came when making a bad mistake three out at Downpatrick) and is now rated 143 over fences, 26lb higher than when his winning run started. Elliott has now wisely switched codes with Cubomania, who is rated just 53 on the level. He could be around 4st well in on his jumping mark and although Guitar Pete is also well-handicapped, I'd be pretty confident Cubomania will come out on top.

EYECATCHER

Lacustre(7.15 Chelmsford)

This looks a pretty winnable 1m2f older-horse maiden and David Lanigan's Lacustre, who ran a promising second on debut for the yard over this course and distance, must have a huge chance of going one better. Formerly trained by Andre Fabre, Lacustre was heavily supported on her first start and came with a strong run down the outside to take each-way money behind a useful winner. The form of that race is looking reasonable with the fourth scoring next time out and although she will want further in time, she looks a good bet in this.
