The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Saturday

EACH-WAY PLAY

(2.25 York)

Michael Dods's reliable seven-year-old, who has finished ninth and second in the last two runnings of this race, looks primed to make it third time lucky. A course-and-distance specialist (form figures 21391321), Get Knotted is able to compete off 3lb lower than when last successful, which came over this track and trip on soft ground 11 months ago. He ended last season with a few mid-division efforts in big-field handicaps, and always needs the first couple of runs to get fit after a winter break. His first two starts this year came over an inadequate 6f and now that he steps up in distance and gets give in the ground he should be feared by all.

DARK HORSE

Moraawed (3.35 York)

Creeping into the bottom of the weights off just 8st 7lb in this competitive three-year-old handicap, Moraawed, a colt who can go places if he matures mentally, looks an each-way bet to nothing at around 8-1. Roger Varian has his string in decent condition heading into Royal Ascot and first-time blinkers can help this son of Swiss Spirit add his name to the trainer's recent tally. An impressive winner at Doncaster on his penultimate outing when beating the reopposing Dazzling Dan, Moraawed was given a tough task at Newmarket last time out but got within a two and three-quarter lengths of the same rival and should be marked up for his effort given it suited to be on the pace. He is much better off with Dazzling Dan for that race, and is actually 2lb better off than when beating him at Donny, so it shocks me that Pam Sly's runner is ahead of him in the market.
