Evening Angles: trainer stats, RPRs and a combination to follow

Wolverhampton: racing after dark today

Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a trainer-jockey combination. . .

Trainer form

Arctic Sea
4.55 Lingfield
Angle: Paul Cole has won with three of his last nine runners.

Paul Cole's string are evidently in good heart and Arctic Sea could enhance the excellent strike-rate at Lingfield this evening.

The five-year-old won over course and distance off a 1lb lower mark last year and has posted two good efforts since returning this month, most recently finishing a half-length second at Pontefract.

Ratings

New Jazz
8.10 Wolverhampton
Angle: 12lb clear on weight-adjusted Racing Post Ratings

Although previous winner Nearooz is likely to be a big threat, at the weights twice-raced maiden New Jazz is 12lb clear on RPRs.

John Gosden has never been afraid of showcasing a useful one on the all-weather and this daughter of Scat Daddy's debut third at Newmarket last July reads well, even if she failed to build on it next time at the same course. The winner of her debut, Antonia De Vega, has won a Group 3, while the runner-up, Zagitova, has run admirably in plenty of top races, including a Group 1 at the Curragh.

Wild card

Temujin
5.55 Lingfield
Angle: Cieren Fallon and Charlie Hills have a 75 per cent strike-rate when teaming up at Lingfield

Cieren Fallon has won on three of his four rides for trainer Charlie Hills at Lingfield and the pair combine again this evening with Temujin, who has run admirably a couple of times without winning.

The form of his latest third, at Kempton in October, is working out well, with the first, second and fourth all at least a couple of pounds higher in the handicap now.
