Evening Angles: three to note at Uttoxeter and Doncaster on Racing Post stats

Uttoxeter: races on Saturday evening
Uttoxeter: races on Saturday eveningCredit: Clint Hughes

Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a good course partnership. . .

Trainer form

Stream Lady
7.50 Uttoxeter
Angle: David Pipe has won with six of his last 18 runners

Prior to the start of Saturday's racing, David Pipe had a 33 per cent strike-rate with his runners in the new season. He has a couple of chances at Uttoxeter this evening, with Stream Lady a contender to maintain the yard's winning momentum.

The six-year-old mare improved for the 3m1f trip and first-time blinkers to win well at Plumpton last month and, up 5lb, she should go well again.

Ratings

Southern Sam
6.20 Uttoxeter
Angle: Southern Sam is 15lb clear on Racing Post Ratings

Southern Sam has not won in four starts under rules for Oliver Sherwood, but has performed to a good standard and appears to have been found a fair opportunity to get a first win on the board.

He finished fifth in the always-competitive EBF Final at Sandown in March and is 15lb clear of Staged Engagement on RPRs, although both Nicky Henderson-trained runners in the race are unexposed.

Wild card

Lady Bergamot
7.05 Doncaster
Angle: James Fanshawe and George Wood have a 28 per cent strike-rate when teaming up at Doncaster

When trainer James Fanshawe and regular ally George Wood combine at Doncaster it often goes well, with the pair performing better than their individual course strike-rates.

They team up with Lady Bergamot, who earned a career-best RPR at Doncaster in September. She made a respectable return at Newcastle and is only 4lb above her last winning mark.
