It's another day of interesting Classic trial action at Leopardstown on Sunday

Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a trainer's record with newcomers . . .

Trainer form

Magen's Moon
8.10 Leopardstown
Angle: Emmet Mullins has a 25 per cent strike-rate (2-8) in the last two weeks

This mare switches codes for in-form trainer Emmet Mullins, who has won with two of his last eight runners, after an early fall when a gambled-on favourite over hurdles at Hexham 12 days ago.

She won off a mark of 82 on the Flat two years ago when trained by John Oxx and has been strong in the market again off just 56 here.

Ratings

Flight Risk
7.40 Leopardstown
Angle: Flight Risk is 1lb clear of his rivals on Racing Post Ratings

Flight Risk sets the standard in the Group 3 Plusvital Ballycorus Stakes with a rating 1lb superior to key rivals Inverleigh and Gordon Lord Byron.

A winner of this race in 2017, he landed the Listed Glencairn Stakes in commanding fashion at the course last week and should take all the beating again if handling the quick turnaround.

Wild card

Justifier
5.35 Leopardstown
Angle: Ger Lyons has a 21 per cent strike-rate (4-19) with two-year-old newcomers at Leopardstown

When Ger Lyons gives a juvenile their debut at Leopardstown it is worth taking note as he has won with four of 19 such runners.

To give his record some context, Aidan O'Brien's comparable strike-rate is seven per cent (5-76), so a big run can be expected from the Free Eagle colt, who cost €60,000 as a yearling.
