Evening Angles: three to note at Kempton and Bath based on Racing Post stats

Kempton: races on Wednesday evening

Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a good trainer with handicap debutants. . .

Trainer form

Gregorian Girl
7.20 Kempton
Angle: Dean Ivory has won with six of his last 15 runners

Dean Ivory's runners have been firing on all cylinders in the last two weeks and Gregorian Girl could help maintain the winning momentum at Kempton this evening.

The three-year-old's only victory came over this course and distance in April and, although she is 4lb higher in the handicap, it remains a plausible mark, particularly as she ran her best ever race on turf when fourth at Newbury last time.

Racing Post Ratings

Little Boy Blue
9.10 Bath
Angle: Posted a career-best RPR when winning last time and runs off 3lb below his future mark

Little Boy Blue posted the best performance of his career when winning by four lengths at Brighton last week and bids to follow up under a 5lb penalty.

The four-year-old will run off a 3lb higher mark in the future and so looks feasibly handicapped, while his first Racing Post Rating in the 90s last time suggests he's an improved horse this year. He could yet do better, particularly if granted quick ground.

Wild card

Kings Highway
7.50 Kempton
Angle: Ivan Furtado has a 20 per cent strike-rate with his handicap debutants

Kings Highway is a course-and-distance winner and could bolster his trainer Ivan Furtado's good strike-rate with handicap debutants.

It has been a profitable angle, with a £1 stake on all of Furtado's handicap debutants in the last five seasons boasting a £60.50 profit, and the four-year-old appears to have been given a fair mark.
