Evening Angles: three runners to note based on Racing Post stats

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back based on trainer form, a course specialist and, tonight's wild card, a trainer with only one runner.

Trainer form

Edaraat
6.45 Kempton
Angle: Roger Varian strike-rate at Kempton

Varian has made an excellent start to the season and boasts an enviable 21 per cent strike-rate at Kempton, where he sends three runners this evening.

The trainer has a good chance with Edaraat who, after showing promise in his first two starts over a mile, drops back to that trip on his handicap and all-weather debut.

Course specialist

Creek Island
7.00 Bath
Angle: Johnston's record in Bath handicaps

Mark Johnston has had three winners from six runners in three-year-old handicaps at Bath this season and sends out market leader Creek Island, who faces just two rivals on this drop back to a mile.

The son of Iffraaj scored over 1m1f at Hamilton on his penultimate start but was held off 7lb higher last time when sixth at Beverley. He has a bit to prove but still looks the one to beat.

Wild card

Forbidden Dance
6.15 Kempton
Angle: Hughie Morrison's only runner

Forbidden Dance is Morrison's only runner and makes her handicap and all-weather debut under the in-form Oisin Murphy.

The three-year-old is on a fair opening mark after three starts and showed promise when third at Newbury at 16-1 last month.
