North: Colin Russell

Porchy Party(3.25 Ripon, nap)

Won twice as a two-year-old but mixed form this time. On a good mark now, and with the ground in his favour and a visor on for the first time is fancied to get off the mark for the season.

Willie John(4.15 Epsom, nap)

Made a highly impressive start for his new connections when spreadeagling the field in a novice at Doncaster. Roger Varian's three-year-old has since impressed on the Limekilns.

Al Jellaby(4.50 Epsom, nap)

The prospect of rain and kinder ground should suit this lightly raced three-year-old, who ran well from a similar mark at Doncaster in June.

Ennistown(5.00 Cartmel,nap)

Successful in this race two years ago and thought capable of going well again with taking into account his rider's valuable 10lb claim.

Others to follow
Cartmel 3.15 Chirico Vallis.
Chepstow 2.35 Trotter 4.55 Princess Way.

Racing Post Ratings: Simon Turner

Five Amarones(2.15 Ripon)

Has not progressed from early season form but has been in much deeper waters of late and this drop in grade could see him off the mark.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Safarhi(6.05 Chepstow, nap)

Pulled well clear of the pack when favourite and just denied at Windsor recently and should be given a chance to make amends.

Longshot:Simon Giles

Monks Stand(3.35 Southwell, nap)

Well down the field recently but was a three-time course winner earlier in the year so no surprise if showed up better returning here just 1lb above the mark for his last win.

Ireland:Tony O'Hehir

Caltex(5.05 Downpatrick, nap)

The Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old can come good over fences at the third attempt following a solid effort at the Galway festival where he ran second to Minella Beau. The shorter trip should not inconvenience him and he gets the vote to score under Jack Kennedy.

Peter Hedger's seven runners at Epsom in the last five seasons have produced four wins, for a £1 level-stakes profit of £20.75. Two of the wins were courtesy of C'Est No Mour, one of which was in the Amateur's Derby under Simon Walker 12 months ago - the pair go for a repeat win at 3.40.
