Graeme Rodway fancies a Placepot perm for a competitive card at Yarmouth

Credit: Edward Whitaker

With several competitive handicaps in the first six races the Yarmouth Placepot looks an attractive bet.

Chris Wall runs two in the opener and we’ll bank on The Fiddler (2.00) relishing the fast ground, setting us up for some coverage elsewhere.

Course-and-distance winner Lunar Deity might be an 11-year-old but he appeals in division one of the 1m2f handicap (2.30). It’s also worth including the improving Volcano Bay, who is eight years younger than Lunar Deity.

Marie’s Gem might not have stayed 1m4f at Ripon last time and could bounce back in division two (3.00). Topweight Visor rates a solid alternative.

Perfect Times was impressive when winning at Kempton on her debut and is banker material in the 6f novice (3.30).

The 6f handicap (4.00) looks tricky and I’ll stick with course form. Terri Rules has won at the track, while Fard has been placed on two of his last three runs and all were at Yarmouth.

Envisaging is fancied to build on his promising reappearance at Lingfield in the 7f handicap (4.30) but nobody likes going out in the last so include Breath Of Joy too.
