BANKER

Major Partnership(8.05 Newmarket)

Highly-regarded colt trained by Saeed Bin Suroor, Major Partnership improved from his debut second and subsequent wind operation to land a rather poor course maiden over 7f here in June, recording an RPR of 91 in the process. He showed a good turn of foot that day and quickened up in fine style again when seen at the start of the month in another poor race at Thirsk over this trip. He scooted clear of his inferior rivals there at odds of 1-6 and looked a useful horse in the making. It's interesting he's being sent down the handicap route given he could be a Group-class colt and he can rack up the hat-trick under Pat Cosgrave.

GOOD THING

Lethal Promise (3.30 Newbury)

It's very interesting to see that the ultra-shrewd Willie McCreery has sent across his two-year-old filly for this Listed event and it would be far from surprising if she came home in front under Billy Lee. The daughter of Invincible Spirit showed distinctive promise in her first two runs in maiden company when finishing runner-up, before absolutely hacking up by six lengths at Naas in mid-June – the 92-rated second has boosted the form since. She ran well when fourth in a Group 3 last time and this rates as a step down in class.
